13 Youth (and 1 adult) get baptised!

On Friday evening, 31 October, the youth, along with supporting family members, gathered at El Shaddai Christian Church for a beautiful celebration: a baptism service.

Fourteen people were baptised that night: thirteen of our youth and one dad, Jade, who decided to take this step of faith alongside his daughter, Isabella. The evening began with heartfelt worship led by the youth band, followed by a short message from Liam du Toit. Then, each person, who was going to be baptised, shared their confession of faith.

After the message and confessions, around 60 youth, along with family members and others in our church community, gathered outside to witness the baptisms. The atmosphere was filled with joy and celebration. Although there were fourteen baptisms, each person was baptised individually. Even in a group celebration, every individual felt valued and cherished.

Baptism is such a powerful declaration of faith. It’s a public statement that says, “I belong to Jesus.” As a church, we’re so thankful to walk alongside those who made that commitment.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” — Matthew 28:19–20

Natalie, Chloe, Keyone, Matthew, Nicholas, Emily, Beth, Pieter, Jenna, Lydia, Gabriella, Caleb, Isabella and Jade, we celebrate with you and pray that your faith grows deeper and stronger as you walk with Jesus every day.
