Klipheuwel

Reading

and

feeding

scheme

Volunteers visit Klipheuwel’s Mikpunt Primary School to give remedial aid and help children who struggle to master the vital skill of reading. This Afrikaans reading scheme provides a vital building block to support these children in their academic growth.
ESCC also supports the children in this semi-rural community with a school feeding scheme, providing nutritious soup, and we hold end-of-term celebrations. At the annual end-of-year celebration, the children play games, and enjoy special treats and they and their teachers are blessed with a gift.

You can also volunteer to make soup (we supply a 5-litre tub filled with dried legumes and vegetables). You can cook the soup in the comfort of your home and then deliver it to ESCC where we freeze the soup before it gets transported to the school.
