Being able to bless my doctor

“I was admitted to Tygerberg Hospital for the second of two planned eye surgeries recently. My ophthalmologist looked so young and I’m not sure how she realised that I was a Christian as we didn’t speak about faith but she said, “Mrs Uys will you please pray for my husband, as he’s writing his final exams to become a paediatrician?” I sat with her in her consulting room and we took hands and we prayed. It was an honour to be asked to pray with her. After the operation, when I came back to the hospital for a check-up, she thanked me for the prayer and she said that her husband passed his exams cum laude and that it was only through God. She also told me that she was five months pregnant with her second child and she asked me to pray over her baby too. It’s a little girl and we sat together again and we prayed for God’s plan and purpose over this little girl. Again, I felt that it was such an honour.” – Celia Uys
