Celebrating Leadership and Legacy at El Shaddai Christian School

Two special moments recently marked the rhythm of life at El Shaddai Christian School — the Valedictory Assembly for the outgoing Matric class and the induction of the 2026 Leadership Team. Both occasions carried a deep sense of gratitude, reflection, and faith in God’s guiding hand.

Farewell to the class of 2025

The final day of the Grade 12s’ school journey was celebrated with a heartfelt Valedictory Assembly filled with emotion, gratitude, and treasured traditions. Each Matric shared words of thanks and reflection on their time at El Shaddai. Some have walked these halls for 14 years, others only a few, yet all spoke of the loving, nurturing environment that shaped them.Mr Guthrie affirmed how faithfully they lived out Micah 6:8, “To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God” — as a model of leadership within the school. Mrs Marais reminded them, with both humour and wisdom, that El Shaddai’s focus is not only on academics but on whole-student growth: physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual.

The morning included beautiful traditions, such as praying a blessing over the Grade 1s, the Grade 11s singing over the Matrics, and the laying of stones at the Heritage Fountain, echoing 1 Samuel 7:12: “Thus far the Lord has helped us.” Each stone stands as a testimony of God’s faithfulness and trust for the journey ahead.

As the Class of 2025 steps into a new season, the school’s prayer is that they go forth confident in their identity as image-bearers of God, bringing glory to Him in all they do (Ephesians 5:1–2).

Welcoming the 2026 Leadership Team

On Wednesday 8 October, the school celebrated the induction of the 2026 Leadership Team, a joy-filled occasion where the presence of the Holy Spirit was beautifully tangible.

Congratulations to the ESCS 2026 leadership team, which is comprised of:
Headboy:  Michael Amoeda
Headgirl: Jordan Persens
Academics: Rue Gandizanwa
Media: Gabi Stead
Culture: Isabella Gray
Events: Kaelin Hamdulay
Sport: Uzziel Munnik
Operations: Gerhardus Hoffman
Community: Rasoll Mukanhaire
Discipling: Shannon Mukendi

Mr Guthrie shared an encouragement from Hebrews 12:1, calling the new matrics to “throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” He reminded them that true leadership means fixing our eyes on Jesus, leading not for recognition, but from a heart surrendered to Him.

We look forward to watching them grow into their roles as leaders at ESCS.
