D4J 10 Days of Prayer 2025
This year marks our 12th year in the D4J Prayer Room — a time when churches all across Durbanville unite in prayer, day and night, for 10 days.
For 2025, we felt the Lord guiding us to Luke 10 and the well-known story of Mary and Martha:
“As Jesus and His disciples were on their way, He came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to Him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what He said.” Luke 10:38–42
Martha opened her home. Mary sat at His feet. Inspired by this passage, we are called to do both: to open our homes and to sit at His feet.
This year’s prayer room will reflect both an open home and an intimate space to sit at His feet. We won’t be asking the Lord for anything in this hour — only spending time at the feet of Jesus, creating space for the presence of His Holy Spirit.
THE DETAILS:
We will have a physical D4J Prayer Room, open every day from 7am to 8pm for the full 10 days, along with online prayer guidelines.
Each church will take a day to sign up and cover the full 24 hours of prayer. But you are welcome to come and pray multiple times during the 10 days — no need to sign up for these extra times.
Often, two or three churches pray together. Our goal is not just to have one person per hour — we want communities of people praying.
As always, we love to include children, and we’ve prepared something special for them, aligned with this year’s theme. We treasure the prayers of our children!
The 10 Days of Prayer begins at 11pm on Wednesday, 28 May, and ends at 11pm on Saturday, 7 June. ESCC’s slot will run from 11:00 pm on Wednesday , 28 May right through the night until midnight Thursday 29 May.
Instead of hosting a Long Table event on Wednesday evening to launch the prayer room, we encourage you to live out the theme and open your home. Invite others in for a meal on Wednesday, 28 May.
