Mighty Men 2025
On 1 November 2025, 30,000 men will gather at Athlone Stadium for the first-ever Mighty Men Cape Flats event — a free gathering calling for healing, restoration, and change across communities long affected by violence and hardship.
This momentous event forms part of Radio Tygerberg 104FM’s “Healing the City” initiative, launched in 2024 in response to alarming levels of gang-related deaths and social decay. Earlier this year, more than 200 church and community leaders met at Athlone Stadium to begin preparing for what promises to be a powerful movement of unity, prayer, and transformation.
The event will feature a line-up of inspirational speakers who understand the challenges of the Cape Flats first-hand. Among them are Johnny Davids, media personality and author, and Ivor Swartz, pastor and author, both bringing messages of hope and redemption. The keynote address will be delivered by world-renowned evangelist Angus Buchan, returning to Cape Town for the first time since 2018. Though he has scaled back his public ministry, Buchan felt deeply moved to be part of this historic moment.
Music will set the tone for the day, led by Neville D — Grammy-nominated artist and beloved Radio Tygerberg breakfast host — accompanied by a live band and a 100-man choir. Together, they will bring a sound of faith and unity to the stadium, lifting hearts and declaring a new chapter for the city.
