Hope in Every Blanket and Brushstroke: Blessing Klipheuwel this Winter

Warm clothes, fresh paint, and God’s provision in action

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff, parents, and children of El Shaddai Christian School, as well as the ESCC community, for their generous donations of pyjamas, blankets, and school jerseys during the Klipheuwel Ministry’s Winter Warmer Drive. Your kindness brought warmth and comfort to the children who needed it most.

The children also received raincoats just in time for the rain, and their joy was contagious! One teacher remarked that it looked like the children felt they’d been given “a license to play in the rain.”

These practical gifts make a real difference in the children when facing cold and wet winter days. One of the Klipheuwel ministry team shared, “the children are truly aware of your love and care for them.” 

A fresh coat of hope
During the July school holidays, an anonymous donor from ESCC arranged for Klipheuwel Primary School to be repainted. The last time the school was painted was more than 30 years ago!

The transformation brought surprise and delight. Many teachers and learners said they were amazed to return from the break to find their school looking completely renewed.

The headmaster shared, “It now looks like a real Primary School, and this new coat of paint has lifted the morale of both the teachers and the children.”

Laurencia Parks, who leads the Klipheuwel Ministry’s remedial reading team, added, “May God continue to bless this man and his team for being God’s hands and feet, and for making such a meaningful difference in a disadvantaged community. We’re so thankful for the relationship that’s begun between the school and our church.”

We give God the glory for how He has provided for these children and the school through both ESCC and El Shaddai Christian School.
